You won't believe how many of today's modern space-age technical advances and inventions have come from the imaginations of scientists and researchers who grew up reading comic books. The comic book character Dick Tracy's wrist radio from the 1930s, a ray gun, microwaves, and other scientific fantasies from long ago are all realities today, thanks to some of the young adventure and science-related comic book readers, turned scientists, and researchers. My own life's journey, after being gifted my older brother's comic book collection when I was a kid followed the path from young comic book reader to working in the high-energy physics field of science.
